If you can see the devotion we have for these wonderful dogs and are motivated to sponsor or help Weimaraners rescued here in Texas in any way, please contact us, or the rescue group directly at   http://www.weimrescuetexas.org/ . We are always needing help, even just
transporting or picking up animals from various shelters.  We have a lot of fun and combradery, so join us in helping man's best friend and meet some wonderful people, too.

Welcome to the
Houston Weimaraner Group homepage - a site dedicated to Weimaraner owners in the Houston area.

(((Can you serve as a temporary foster home for rescued Weims in the Houston area for Weim Rescue of North Texas?  If so, contact us!)))

If you have a Weimaraner and are just amazed at your dog and want to get together with other Weimar-owned people, just to visit, share stories, exercise a bit and share info about feeding, habits and care of your dog, then this is the place.

Please share your funny Weim photos, advice, stories, healthcare and other tips with us and try to meet other Weim fans from time to time when we either meet with or without our pets...to savor the experience and, hopefully, encourage  respect and care for this breed of dog.

There is also info on these pages to help you decide if a Weimaraner is the right dog for you, how to care for a Weim and how to adopt one.

About Us
We're just fans of Weimaraners, from all walks of life.  And you can meet other Weimaraner owners and enthusiasts in the Houston area.  Get together with other Weimaraners and their owners and listen to their stories about these wonderful dogs.  Learn about their care, habits and how to enhance your own experience with your special pal.  Even better, walk with us and let your dog help you get into shape.

We frequently meet in Houston's Memorial Park on Saturdays, starting with breakfast at a nearby restaurant at 8am, then a walk around the Memorial Loop around 8:40.  If you'd like more info about where to meet, contact us.  Other quarterly meets will be at some of Houston dog parks.

We have a great time talking about our dogs and funny, sad, and informative incidents and events that make us the fans of Weims we are.

Wind-down time after the walk.

A Weim rescuer and her sons came to help walk the Weims one Saturday.

We often have breakfast at Denny's or another nearby restaurant before the walk.
A Weim sitting in the driver's seat at a restaurant can sometimes
attract attention from passer's by as evidenced by this woman stopping with her family to take a photo.

Come join us to learn more about your dog's care, feeding and habits, exercise yourself and your dog and savor the pleasure of spending time with one of man's best friends.
Oh, and please share Weim photos!

.
There is nothing like a dog that thinks it is part of the family.  It doesn't matter what you look like on any particular day, if you are rich or poor, what mood you are in.  As long as you treat them well, you are their "most admired."  And they are always glad to see you and spend as much time with you as you can spare.

It's fun, relaxing and great for the dogs.
